Joel  J. P. C. Rodrigues

Joel J. P. C. Rodrigues is a Full Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Technology Center, Federal University of Piauí, Brazil, and leader of the NetGNA Research Group. He is an IEEE Fellow, a Fellow of IARIA and AAIA, a Senior Member of ACM, and a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, ranked No. 1 among Brazil’s top computer scientists. His core research focuses on AI-powered intelligent urban transportation systems, vehicular networks, and traffic big data analytics. He has published over 1400 papers, 3 books, and 2 patents. He has won multiple IEEE awards and has served as a journal Editor-in-Chief and chair for top IEEE conferences.

Yuanyan Tang

Yuanyan Tang is the Director of the Smart City Research Center, Chair Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau, and Chair Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Science, Hong Kong Baptist University. He is an IEEE Life Fellow, Fellow of IAPR, AIIA, AAIA, and the Chinese Association of Automation, and Vice Chair of the Macao Artificial Intelligence Society. His core research covers AI, pattern recognition, AI-enabled smart urban traffic systems, vehicular-road collaboration, and traffic big data analytics. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of an SCI-indexed journal, has held founding leadership roles in IEEE and IAPR, and has published over 600 papers and 25 monographs.

Jinsong Wu

Jinsong Wu is a Full Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Guilin University of Electronic Technology. He is an IEEE Senior Member, founding Chair of IEEE TCGCC and current Chair of IEEE TCBD. He has received the IEEE Green Communications Distinguished Technical Achievement Award and multiple IEEE Best Paper Awards. His research focuses on green communications, generalized green AI, traffic big data analytics and sustainable ICT. He systematically defined core concepts in the field, put forward generalized red AI and red digital technologies, published the world’s first green communications monograph and over 400 SCI-indexed papers.

Radu-Emil Precup

Radu-Emil Precup is a Professor at Politehnica University of Timisoara in Romania, and also serves as Senior Researcher and Head of the Data Science and Engineering Laboratory at the Romanian Academy—Timisoara Branch. He is an IEEE Fellow, a Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy, and a Fellow of NAAI and AAIA. He also holds two Doctor Honoris Causa titles and serves on multiple IFAC/IEEE technical committees. His research focuses on intelligent control, artificial intelligence, fuzzy systems, neural networks, and data-driven approaches for complex autonomous systems and smart urban mobility. He serves as Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor for top IEEE/Elsevier journals. He has won the Elsevier Scopus Excellence Award, IEEE Best Associate Editor Awards, and over ten best paper awards.

Adrian David Cheok

Adrian David Cheok is a Full Professor at the School of Automation, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. He is an IET Fellow, FIEAust, FRSA, an IEEE Senior Member, a recipient of the Order of Australia, and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. He is listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists. His core research covers artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, mixed reality, and multisensory communication. He has published over 480 peer-reviewed papers, has won multiple international academic awards including the Hitachi Fellowship and A-STAR Young Scientist Award, and serves as Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor for top journals from IEEE, Springer, and ACM.

H. Gabriel Morais

H. Gabriel Morais is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon in Portugal, and a senior researcher at INESC-ID, Portugal. He is an IEEE Senior Member and the coordinator of multiple ongoing Horizon Europe projects. He has participated in over 40 national, French, and European academic-industrial research initiatives. His core research focuses on smart grid technologies, electric mobility integration in power systems, and AI-enabled urban traffic energy optimization for metropolitan transport ecosystems. He has published over 250 scientific papers (including over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles) with over 8000 citations, and serves as an editor for leading energy journals. He has also received 26 academic excellence awards.

Chien-Ming Chen

Chien-Ming Chen is an Associate Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. He is an IEEE Senior Member and has been consecutively listed among Stanford’s World’s Top 2% Scientists (2020–2024). He has also been recognized as a Shenzhen Overseas High-Level Talent. His core research covers cybersecurity, blockchain, federated learning, AI privacy protection, big data mining, and secure intelligent transportation for metropolitan traffic ecosystems. He has published over 150 SCI papers, serves as Executive Editor/Associate Editor for multiple SCI journals, and has led several provincial and ministerial research projects. These include serving as head of the Shandong Provincial Youth Innovation Team (AI and Cybersecurity). He has also won multiple Excellent/Best Paper Awards from international conferences.

Xinheng Wang

Xinheng Wang is a Full Professor and founding Head of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics, School of Advanced Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He is an IET Fellow, an IEEE Senior Member, and a team leader of the Talented Jiangsu Innovation and Entrepreneur Programme. His core research covers intelligent connected vehicles, AI-enabled urban traffic systems, IoT, edge computing, robotic SLAM, and smart city applications for metropolitan transportation ecosystems. He has led over 30 EU, UK EPSRC, China NSFC, and industrial research projects, and has published over 230 peer-reviewed papers with more than 4800 total citations. He also holds dozens of international patents. He won the Microsoft Indoor Localisation Competition championship (Sound Group) and multiple academic awards. His research was rated “world-leading” in the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Farid Naït-Abdesselam

Farid Naït-Abdesselam is a Full Professor at Université Paris Cité, France, currently affiliated with the LIPADE Laboratory. He is an IEEE Senior Member and has been consecutively listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier (2020–2025). He serves as Associate Editor for Elsevier Computer Communications, and has been a Guest Editor for several special issues. His core research covers network security, AI-enabled secure vehicular networks, traffic data privacy protection, blockchain, and federated learning for metropolitan transportation ecosystems. He has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers and edited 2 scientific books.
